Homework for Feb 14, 2015

Please check the Telugu Literature page on the blog for extra resources which kids can refer at home. I have added 2 YouTube links which will help kids recognizing and pronouncing the Vowel and Consonants.

Prathamika

Writing: 
  • Practice all the alphabets we worked on in the class. ( Refer to the note book)  ** Parents, please ask your child to say the alphabet as they write it.
    Learn the next 5 alphabets.
  • Write the date and all the alphabets learned so far in the notebooks. (Show this to the teacher in next class).
Vocab: 
  • Review body parts, vegetables, fruits, weekdays.
  • Learn words with alphabets క,ఖ,గ,ఘ,చ,ఛ,జ,ఝ
  • Review all the vocabulary words which kids already learned - Parents - Please ask the kids the words in English and ask them to say it in telugu. 
Poem:
  • Learn అల్పుడెపుడు పల్కు. (Page 126)
Quiz:
  • Writing and identifying alphabets at random - This is very important. Most of the kids write the letters in order but they stumble when they have to write or identify the random letters. We want the parents to work with the kids on this.
  • All the vocabulary words

  • Parents, please check your kids' notebooks for this. 
    ** Home work need to be dated and timed and written legibly on a fresh page in the notebook.
Madhyama 1 (A - Class with More kids, B - Class with 6 kids)

  • Practice writing and recognizing guninthalu for the letters which touches the body.  Identify variations in few of the guninthams (A & B sections).
  • Practice writing words with and without Guninthalu - write and show at least 5 words each  - (A & B)  - write the meaning in English.
  • Review and Practice all the Guninthams (B)
  • Learn few sentences in Telugu, write the sentences that you learned in the book - you can write it in English  (A & B) 
  • Review all the Prayers and Padyams which are learned this calander year. (A & B)
  • Learn at least 10 new Vocabulary words - write down what you learned in the book. (A & B)

Announcements - 12-23-2015

1. Telugu Class :  Because of the Christmas break, we have decided not to have the telugu classes on December 27th and Jan 3'rd.  As we will be organizing and participating on Telugu Competitions @ Ashtalakshmi temple on Jan 9'th and 10'th, we do not have class on Jan 10'th.

2. Telugu Competitions : 

As you all know telugu competitions are held at ashtalakshmi temple on 9 and 10'th of Jan.  You can register online by clicking on following link. Please register ASAP so that it will give an idea to organizers for planning.  

We want all the Prathamika kids to participate in Poem Recitation and also in Elocution. Prathamika kids who are good with Telugu vocabulary can participate in Vocabulary section (this is based on Age).

We encourage Madyama 1 Kids to participate in Reading and Writing Level 1, Vocabulary based on Age level, Poem Recitation and also in Elocution.

Madyama II kids can participate in Reading and Writing Level 2/3, Vocabulary based on Age level, Poem Recitation and also in Elocution.

Utteerna kids should participate in Reading and Writing Level 3, Vocabulary based on Age level, Poem Recitation and also in Elocution.

Note: Please read rules to understand  how to prepare for the competitions.  Who ever participating in Poem Recitation and Elocution needs to introduce them-self in telugu.  Here is the sample introduction they can say

నా పేరు ...... నేను సైప్రస్ తెలుగు బడి లో తెలుగు నేర్చుకొంటున్నాను. ఈరోజు నేను చెప్పబోయే పద్యం ----- లోనిది

                Bonus : క-ఙ
Vocabulary: 1.Simple words with achchulu.అ-అః
                      2. Colors, weekdays, numbers (1-10), all animals (page:39),Opposite words (page :47)
Poems: చేత వెన్న ముద్దbonus: గంగి గోవు పాలు
 Test Pattern ( Includes but not limited toFill in the missing alphabets, identifying the random alphabets and saying two words which start with it, reciting poems and all the other vocabulary and speaking (translating simple English sentences to telugu)
Writing must be legible to score a point. 

Level 2 
Writing: Alphabets Achchulu అ-అః
                                Hallulu క-న. Bonus : ప-ఱ
Vocabulary:1.Simple words with achchulu.అ-అః
