Minimum Requirements for moving students from one level to other

Hope you all are having a great summer. As we are getting close to new calander year, we would like to send out information regarding moving students from one level to the other. Following are the minimum requirements for kids to get to the next level from their current level. We want all the parents to work with kids during the holidays so that they will be ready for the next calander year.  These are just the minimum requirements. But final decision will be taken by the teachers to move students to the next level or to keep it in same level. 
Prathamika Level 1 to Level 2
1.   Moderate clarity/ legibility of handwriting 
2.   Identifying Achulu and writing them in order
3.   Able to say simple words with Achulu
4.   Able to recite at least 1 poem/ prayer song. 
5.   Weekdays and colors, numbers till 20, in Telugu.

Prathamika Level 2 to Madyama 1 Level 1
1.   Writing Achulu and Hallulu without any mistakes.
2.   Random letter Identification / Recognition and writing.
3.   Writing and reading simple words without any vottulu or guninthalu (కమల, పడవ, ఓడ)
4.   Colors, Weekdays, Animals and Numbers 1 to 20 
5.   Relations (at least orally they should know – Basic relations)
6.   Able to recite at least 2 poem/ prayer songs. 
 
Madyama 1 Level 1 to Madyama 1 Level 2
1.   Writing Achulu and Hallulu without any mistakes.
2.   Random letter Identification / Recognition and writing.
3.   Primary and Secondary forms of  Vowels with their Names
4.   Reading and writing of all the guninthalu for the Hallulu where talakattu touches the body (Page 13 – 1 st section.)
5.   Writing and reading simple words with guninthalu - (గుడి, కోతి, మామిడి పండు)
6.   Colors, Weekdays, Animals and Numbers 1 to 100 
7.   Relations (at least orally they should know – Basic relations)
8.   Able to recite at least 3 poem/ prayer songs.
9.   Basic vocabulary words learned in the class (refer the composition books and or text books, Blog Year end Test Syllabus) 

Madyama 1 Level 2 to Madyama II
1.   Writing Achulu and Hallulu without any mistakes.
2.   Random letter Identification / Recognition and writing.
3.   Primary and Secondary forms of  Vowels with their Names
4.   Reading and writing of all the guninthalu.. ALL GUNINTHALU
5.   Writing and reading simple words with guninthalu - (గుడి, కోతి, మామిడి పండు, జామ పండు , కాకర కాయ)
6.   Colors, Weekdays, Animals, Fruits, and Numbers 1 to 1000
7.   Relations (basic and advanced)
8.   Able to recite at least 4 poem/ prayer songs.
9.   Vocabulary words learned in the class (refer the composition books and or text books, Blog Year end Test Syllabus)

End of Year Exam Review - May 8'th and 15'th

Home work for this week and next week is to review all the topics that kids have learned through out the year.  We are posting the Final Exam pattern and Topics. This will help kids practice at home and be familiar with the test pattern.

Please check the Telugu Literature page on the blog for extra resources which kids can refer at home. 

Please check the Vocabulary page on the home page to check all the vocabulary words learned in stories.

NOTE: Refer to the Short Sentences Part 1 & Part 2 links to learn  vocab and sentences. We expect all the kids to write the date on the home work page and all the parents, Please make sure you check their notebook for classwork.

Prathamika - Level 1 


1. Fill in the blanks for alphabet  

   e.g  అ - ఇ – ఉ

2. Letter recognition

   e.g  క – They have to say Ka

3. Oral section
Numbers- 1-20. Tell all numbers in sequence or number recognition.
Colors- Base colors recognition. We will show colors and they need to tell in Telugu
Weekdays- They need to tell weekdays in sequence
Common animals- We will show picture and they have to tell the name in Telugu.
4. Tell any 2 sentences in Telugu
5. Recite Chitti chilakamma and Chetavennamudda
6. Tell words starting with అ,ఆ,ఇ,ఈ,ఉ,ఊ- 2 words for each letter.
Bonus section:
Oral: Tell about their friend or anyone in Telugu

Prathamika - Level 2

1.      Write the missing Alphabet (- )                                                                              10

2. Random Alphabet dictation                                                                      (20 alphabets)       10
         Time: 10 min

3.Write the words in Telugu ( We dictate them )         (2*10) 20

Example 2-3 alphabet words without guninthaalu and vothulu  -  కలజలజ
Time: 15 min

4. Write in English or verbally say the Telugu words for the given English word.   (15*2) 30
a.      General vocabulary words(blog and Text book)
b.      Animals, Colors, body parts, week days, Numbers,
c.       Fruits and vegetables, Opposite words

Example: Nose: mukku(write in English or say), Cat: pilli , Red: Erupu

Time: 30 min

5. Write the meaning in English of the Telugu words  (1*10)      10
Example: అంకెలు (Ankelu) : Numbers

Time: 10 min

6. Poem recitation -2 poems                                                     (2*5) 10

   తల్లీ నిన్ను దలంచి, చెత వెన్న ముద్ద గంగి గోవు పాలు

    Time: 5 min

7. Use the given word in simple sentences in telugu  (Verbal)                   (2*5)      10
Example : కాకి-      చెట్టు పైన కాకి ఉంది

   Time: 10 min

Madyama 1 - Level A and Level B

Note: Please maintain the order. Kids are taking much time in writing. So most of the writing part is kept last

        Section 1: Fill in the blanks 
        Section 2: Identify the secondary form of Acchulu. Ex: Talakattu, Deergham       etc
        Section 3: Adding Acchulu to Hallulu in Primary and Secondary forms
        Section 4: Writing 5 Guninthalu
        Section 5: Match the following 
        Section 6: Telugu to English Vocabulary
        Section 7: Opposite Words 
        Section 8: English to Telugu Vocabulary
        Section 9: Understanding the difference between the Alphabets  with examples 

        Section 10:Translate the Given English sentences to Telugu
        (Using the words I, You, We, He, She , It etc. Look at the Blog)

        Section 11: Write your own sentence with the given words

        Section 12: Writing the verbs in Past, Present and Future -tenses

        Section 13: One Prayer song ( Talli ninnu dalanchi) and One Vemana Satakam poem (This is Oral)

        Section 14: Tell the story – “ఊరికే తమాషా చేయరాదు” in few sentences. This is Bonus Section
